What this site is
PSR Expert is an independent fan project with two halves: a calculator that estimates a Primitive Survival Rating from a few taps, and a Survival Guide that teaches the skills sitting behind that score. Neither is affiliated with the show that made the rating famous.

Who writes the guides
The Survival Guide is written and maintained by the PSR Expert team, working from published field manuals and the survival references listed above. Every method is presented as a trade-off — energy cost, reliability, time to a result and the biomes it suits — rather than as a single right answer, because that is how these choices actually present in the field. Where a method can hurt you, the failure modes say so plainly. None of it replaces hands-on instruction from a qualified teacher.
